School Event

Besides subject learning, extra-curricula events such as entrance ceremony, graduation day, essay competitions, art exhibitions, field trip are provided.

The students especially long for Field Day and Annual Festival, which are well-organized with the help of a number of parent volunteers. On Field Day, for example, all the parents are encouraged to take part in some competitions with their children, which adds more fun and excitement to this big event and let the students feel family bond.@@

Filed Day 1 Field Day 2 Annual Festival

The Parent Association of the Japanese Weekend School of New Jersey is also very active in sponsoring summer art work exhibition, bake sale, bazaar, computer workshop, lecture meeting and other activities. In early July, the star Festival or Tanabata is held at school. This is one of the widely-celebrated festivals in Japan, which features written wishes on pieces of bamboo.

Tanabata 1 Tabanaba 2 Japanese Calligraphy

As is represented in the activity of Tanabata, it is our mission to enable the students to fully experience and learn Japanese culture.
Instruction of Japanese Calligraphy is another example of this. In this way, the teachers and parents try to optimize every chance of cultural awareness and learning for the students.

In the hope that you can understand our education well, let me summarize our educational goals and policies.
